patch adams (1998)

a teenager suffering from depression, hunter 'patch adams' enrolled in medical school claiming the need to treat not so much disease as people: the principal boycotted him, his roommate, mitch, considers him childish, but a nurse , joletta, and two classmates, truman and carin, enthusiastically adhere to his contagious 'entertainment therapy'. assigned to the department of childhood diseases, patch adams will practice his profession in his own way, amid the bewilderment of many colleagues and the enthusiasm of patients.
