i bambini ci amano (1954)

an engineer, a widower with an eleven-year-old child, marries a beautiful foreigner, a high-fashion designer, who is however rejected by the little boy, still tied to the poignant memory of his mother. the child consoles himself playing in the mountains with his little dog and one day, running after him, he enters a mined tunnel. the stepmother, sensing the danger, follows the child and, when a mine bursts, she protects him by covering him with his body. the woman, only fainted, will be saved and for the little family the future will be more serene.
