the majestic (2001)

in hollywood in 1951 peter is a writer of b-series films convinced that his latest work can become a masterpiece. unfortunately he finds himself on mccarthy's blacklist and for this, despite professing himself apolitical, he is thrown out of his studies. the same night he is the victim of a car accident after which he disappears in the rapids of a river. he will be found, without memory, on a beach near a small town, by an elderly gentleman who believes he recognizes luke, his lost son in the war. since all the inhabitants of the country welcome him as such, he too begins to believe that he is luke.
