the cider house rules (1999)

twenties: homer wells, a young orphan, finds a father in dr. wilbur larch, an abortion doctor who is a slave to the ether, founder of the orphanage and spiritual guide for all children without parents. the relationship between the two is excellent, but homer doesn't feel like replacing larch at the head of the institute: in love with candy, he decides to go to work as an apple collector in the casa del sidro.
