in nome della legge (1949)

a young praetor arrives in a town in sicily determined to fight the mafia by all means. obsessed by the inhabitants, only a boy, paolino, becomes his friend, he does not give up even when he realizes that the silence of the population, faced with a murder, makes his job impossible. when he ends up colliding with a notable from the place who refuses to reopen a sulfur worker who would give work to many and gets injured, the praetor decides to leave. paolino's violent death will change his mind.
