gli innocenti pagano (1952)

dramatic return to home of a veteran: the poor man, who had a wife and daughter, discovers that the first ran off with another and the second died. desperate, he takes refuge with a family where he meets a girl, already a lover of the landlord from whom he had a child. the latter, who wants the child for himself, instructs an individual to kidnap her, but the young veteran prevents him. after dramatic situations that lead to the death of both the evil seducer and the kidnapper, the two young people, who meanwhile have fallen in love, can finally live happily.
