crossed swords (1954)

renzo and raniero, after a stay abroad, return to their homeland, but are forced to flee because of an edict by minister pavoncello who wants all his subjects married. francesca, raniero's sister, falls in love with renzo. the young man retraces his steps and, after having forced the minister to impotence to overthrow the duke and rule by tyranny, he decides to join his beautiful sweetheart.
