the seventeen year old claudio wants to be a mechanic in life. the father would prefer that he take his place in the demolition company he owns. the conflict between the two is increasingly violent until his father is persuaded by stefano, owner of a workshop in ostia, and sends his son to become an apprentice. here the boy shows his talent in repairing and modifying the engines, skills that stefano tries to exploit to the maximum to win in clandestine races.
