desiderio (1946)

a young woman, tired of the big city in which she lives, returns to her hometown and visits her happily married sister. she wants to redeem herself from a not so clear past and the town knows a floriculturist who begins to woo her and who would like to marry her, but is blackmailed by her brother-in-law who knows her past and who wants to bend her to her lustful desires. fearing that the unsuspecting florist may know the truth, the young woman, almost mad with despair, kills herself.
