lilia is a widowed tunisian mother with a dependent teenage daughter. gray and mortified in her role as a housewife, parent and woman, stalking what she suspects is the girl's boyfriend, a bongos player, enters a sinful cabaret. thus he discovers belly dancing, desire, another unseemly but well-alive universe and begins his transformation, marked by changes in shoes, hairstyles, and return to sex.
