raining stones (1993)

bob williams, an unemployed worker from manchester always looking for odd jobs to make up for a few pounds, sees himself being robbed of the van. exasperated, he also bought a new dress from his daughter for the first communion, telling his wife that he had won the money on the bets. in fact, he asked them in tansey, the neighborhood loan shark, who in fact fell into the house claiming the debt. bob chases him and confronts him, but tansey escapes, dies after he has skidded in the car.
