monster's ball (2002)

leticia is a black woman with a husband about to be sentenced to an electric chair, an obese child and a job to be found. hank is the prison guard who will have to take leticia's husband to the electric chair, has a paralyzed and racist father, and a son who loves but doesn't understand. both will lose their children. theirs is a meeting of desperate people, the union of two solitudes in search of redemption and expiation.
