midnight run (1988)

a former policeman, expelled for putting himself against some powerful men, is hired to recover a large sum of money stolen from an accountant by a drug boss within five days. once the culprit is caught the problems begin: several people will attack their lives on the way back and in the former agent the suspicion that the thief also had some good reason for misbehaving insinuates itself.
