mambo (1954)

mario, giovanna's boyfriend, encourages count enrico to woo her. he does not pray, but the girl, after a brief relationship, abandons both and undertakes the career of a dancer. having become famous, giovanna meets the two again. enrico wants to marry her and mario, who is aware of an incurable disease that will soon bring the count to the grave, once again advocates the union of the two, aiming at a consistent inheritance. giovanna and enrico get married and she discovers she loves him sincerely. when the count dies, giovanna returns to the dance, refusing to mario.
