lasciate ogni speranza (1937)

the employee of a theatrical agency realizes a conspicuous lottery win, after having played the numbers that even in his dreams the supreme poet dante alighieri advised him. the trouble is that in the dream dante predicted that next august 15 will mark the death of the lucky player. the poor man lives in a nightmare state because he sees the fatal hour approaching and all this poisons the joys of winning. but when the marked day arrives, the dante prediction turns out to be false, the hours pass and the man realizes with joy of being alive and well.
