la nemica (1952)

a noblewoman lives with two children, roberto and gastone. the first, who enjoys every privilege, is the natural child of the husband who died years earlier; the second legitimate child. roberto, for an informant, becomes aware of the truth, but believes that he is the fruit of an illicit union of the mother. despite this and knowing the hostility of her towards him, he shows her all his affection. war breaks out, gastone dies and roberto returns home where he is finally accepted.
