la leggenda di genoveffa (1952)

before leaving for the crusades, sigfrido marries his beloved genoveffa, but his squire, rejected by the woman, out of revenge, suggests that she is betraying him. siegfried decides that the woman must die, but this does not happen because the assassins do not feel like executing the sentence and abandon the poor to her fate. when siegfried understands that those said on his wife's account were just slanders he looks for her and returns with her.
