la grande vita (2001)

martin is a suicidal aspirant about to jump off a bridge. at the last second salva proposes him to wait a week to make the final gesture and, in the meantime, ask for a loan of one million dollars to loan sharks and have a great time. martin, in despair, accepts and manages to get the money, helped by salva, who keeps a part of the sum for himself and gets hired as an accountant. martin's life, a former bus driver, changes radically: he stays in luxury hotels, eats in fine restaurants, buys cars and elegant clothes, goes to parties and beautiful women. everything proceeds according to plan until he meets lola, a waitress with a rebellious character, whose love she falls in love with. when the loan-sharks demand the return of the money, martin decides to follow lola and to abandon the suicide proposal.
