signora brambilla would like to give her daughter a rich and wealthy husband and therefore firmly oppose the love of the girl with a good young man but of modest conditions. with this fixed idea, he convinces her husband to make debts so that he can lead the family on a luxury beach where, in contact with the great world, he hopes to find the rich husband suitable for his daughter. on the fashionable beach they meet a rich and wealthy gentleman who not only courts the girl but even tries to attack his virtue and, if the young man who loves her and who has secretly followed her, would be serious trouble . faced with the failure of her project and known the true intentions of the scoundrel, mrs. brambilla consents to the two young men to get engaged.
