florence, 1477: clashes and struggles between two adverse families: the medici and the pazzi, but the people are increasingly on the side of the medici who want peace and prosperity for the tuscan city. lorenzo's brother 'the magnificent', the young giuliano, secretly married a maiden unaware of his father-in-law. but the pazzi make the old parent vindicate the honor of the family, which has meanwhile become a mother. giuliano is killed, the florentine people understand the deceptions of the depazzi family and do summary justice while the widow is exiled by the magnifico who raises her nephew, who will then become the famous pope clement vii.
