l'ombra (1954)

a paralyzed woman, alberta, lives with her painter husband and is assisted by a friend, elena. that forced cohabitation pushes the two to weave a relationship that will become ever deeper, until the decision to abandon the poor woman. years later, alberta, who meanwhile has resumed using her legs, finds her husband and discovers that elena is dead. he decides to stay with the man he has always loved and also takes care of his young son, born from the union of the two.
