in the still of the night (1982)

a psychiatrist's patient is murdered and the doctor becomes an investigator to find the culprit. at first he traces the victim's woman, falls in love with her and helps her escape the police, convinced of his innocence. the case turns into an isolated villa on long island, thanks to the reconstruction of dream fragments narrated by the patient to the psychiatrist.
