in good company (2004)

dan foreman is 51 and has a happy life. he is head of sales of the advertising space for the weekly sports america and has just celebrated a year of great professional successes. the news of his wife's unexpected pregnancy and the fact that his eldest daughter alex has been accepted for the exclusive and very expensive nyu make dan even happier, even if a little worried about the family's finances. carter duryea is 26 and believes he has a perfect life. so far he has worked hard to make a career in the multinational globecom. he has now been chosen to direct the sales of advertising space in one of the publications recently acquired by globecom, the sports america magazine. unfortunately for carter, his promotion coincides with the crisis and relative end of his marriage (which lasted only seven months) and he has no one, except for a little fish, with whom to share his joy. dan's exasperation over his demise is nothing compared to his astonishment at being replaced by a 26-year-old carter. given the age of his new boss and his total inexperience in selling advertising space, dan has no desire to be carter's right hand man. but in light of the news at home, he needs his job exactly as carter does. constrained by necessity, the two begin to work together to try to respond to globecom's desire to reorganize their department, firing people on one side and instead of increasing revenue by 35 percent, on the other.
