ignobel (2001)

the writer alberto leaves to collect the nobel prize, accompanied by the young journalist alessandro. during the journey from switzerland to denmark, alberto speaks with bitter detachment of literary glory, finds old melancholy friends, collects memories and, above all, regrets. alessandro, who is an aspiring writer, proves instead restless, often superficial and perpetually in search of erotic adventures. in the end the dialogue will remain unexpressed, the solitude of the old absolute, the nobel only vanity, almost a 'ignobel'.
