i tartassati (1959)

marshal topponi, an upright financial officer, must investigate the alleged tax evasion of cavalier pezzella, the owner of a clothing store. he, in league with the tax consultant curto, has escaped many millions to the tax authorities, but instead of admitting the wrong, he tries to convince the marshal to turn a blind eye. meanwhile, the children of the two meet and get engaged, complicating even more the relationship of their respective parents. the trader's son will convince his father to repent of a dishonest action perpetrated against the official (he made the purse containing the documents that accuse him disappear) and everything will end in the best way.
