ho pianto per te (1953)

friends since the time of the orphanage, emma and lucia share the same cruel fate: both married to a daughter, they lose their husbands almost simultaneously. emma goes to work in another city. the friend who guards her the child informs her that she is dead. emma gets sick and lets herself die. lucia's confession is worthless, admitting she lied: the little girl is alive, but for emma there is no hope.
