a duke, reduced to the green, receives in his house the daughter of an old friend of his who, on the point of death and still considering him rich, entrusted her to him. the girl, who is very energetic and resourceful, convinces the noble to accept the representation of a car factory, but he is too much a slave to his habits and therefore neglects his work. but the girl, with a stratagem, manages to make him seriously understand the responsibilities of his work and the possibility of earnings, and then ends up marrying a painter he has fallen in love with.
