although just thirty years old, georg hermes lives as a hermit in a dilapidated studio apartment without telephone and tv. graduated in philosophy with a thesis on heraclitus when he receives a copy of his first book, he decides that the time has come to buy a suit useful for the evening in which he will present the book to critics in a bookstore. in the shop he comes across the three orders that seem to have been waiting for him for some time. thus a friendship is born between the four that quickly turns into something more before georg falls in love with franziska then, once he has moved for a series of circumstances in the apartment of the three he begins to give in also to martha and beate. thus begins for the hermit philosopher a new existence suspended between reality and dream.
