on the côte d'azur, in the brief span of a few days, some men and women live pathetic, grotesque, sentimental stories. an actress falls in love with a married man but, being a relationship with no future, she prefers to leave. a journalist has a crush on the friend of the rich businessman he is interviewing; she plays with him for a while, then chooses dollar security. a very jealous sicilian is taken to a night club: with one eye he watches his wife, with the other he is attracted by strippers. a greengrocer takes his wife to a director for a film audition. involved, far too much, in that world, he deludes himself that he can break through, but the wise wife, who has understood the director's interested maneuvers, brings him back to the trastevere shop.
