compromising letters that a lady had sent to a mature financier in the past, for a curious misunderstanding they fall into the hands of the secretary of an adversary of the financier, who is the husband of the author of the letters. the secretary's wife discovers these letters and believes they are from a mistress of her husband; considering himself betrayed, he hides these missives in the fur lining, and from here comes a whole series of misunderstandings, quarrels and extremely intricate accidents. in the end everything settles down without any scandal.
