blue moon (2003)

when johnny pichler turns his back on security in the west and ventures towards the distant reaches of eastern europe, he is following the call of love. his journey took him to slovakia and then to ukraine and finally to odessa, the mystical black sea port city. during the trip, johnny, the stoic money carrier, flees to slovakia with shirley, an enigmatic blonde who found unhappiness in hotel rooms. however, before she has time to make a hurried acquaintance, the woman disappears. following in his footsteps, johnny finds his twin sister, taxi driver jana, hostage to his own past in the ukrainian city of lviv, and ignaz, a hapless east german taken by counter-attack by the advent of the post-communist era.
