a bizarre stripped marquis starts a life of a philosopher vagabond, gathering around him a small group of humble people to whom he preaches the uselessness of money and work. to prove the validity of his thesis, he persuades one of his disciples to abandon the job and spread the rumor that the latter received a large inheritance. thanks to this fiction, the young man really arrives at a real ease.
