Rome, Open City (1945)

inspired by the real story of don luigi morosini: in the rome occupied by the nazis unravel the vicissitudes of pina and francesco, a typographer who works underground; manfredi, a leader of the roman resistance; don pietro, the parish priest of the neighborhood, who accepts a risky assignment. pina will be killed on the street while trying to reach the truck on which her man is; manfredi, arrested, will die under torture and don pietro will be shot dead.
