primo premio: mariarosa (1952)

the roman virgil arrives in a small town where a man puts a cow up for grabs every year, first prize of a lottery. a cow that is regularly returned to him. when it is virgil who wins it, unaware of the 'rule', he wants to keep it at all costs, creating many problems. in the end he returns the animal also because, in the meantime, he has fallen in love and has other things to think about.
