a girl's father is highly superstitious. a young man, interested in his daughter, has the brilliant idea of ??being a hunchback. enthusiastically accepted by the parent, he does not struggle too much to get the girl's hand. but then dad looks back on it, fearing that crippled children may be born from the union. at this point the two lovers tell him the truth.
