Comedy of Happiness (1940)

a philanthropist banker manages to escape from the asylum where he had been locked up by his relatives because of his overly pushy and exaggerated generosity. taking refuge in a peaceful pension, he decides to make those who are not happy, convinced that happiness is in illusion and not in wealth. writing three professional actors and directing them so that a metamorphosis takes place in unhappy people: a young girl consoles a sad young man, a handsome young man convinces a girl that she is pretty and deserving of courting and lasting affection and finally a comedian is the court to an unpleasant one and not really attractive lady. people's bleak life changes and the banker, happily, lets himself be led back to the psychiatric clinic.
