adventures and misadventures of sganarello, a good man who is forced by his wife to pass himself off as a doctor, even going so far as to visit the daughter of a gentleman who has been struck by a mysterious evil. sganarello realizes that evil is nothing but an evil of love and with his cleverness brings the young man in love with the girl into the house of the rich gentleman, pretending to be a pharmacist, and from that moment the sick woman regains health.
