figaro e la sua gran giornata (1931)

in a small theater of a placid provincial town, the representation of rossini's 'barbiere di siviglia' is being prepared and all the locals are invited to take part in it: an elderly former baritone would like to return to singing, a girl with a beautiful voice would like to replace the missing prima donna, against the will of the boyfriend and the severe father. the show therefore, before the scenes, extends between the public and all citizens. furthermore, the intervention of the girl's father who forbids her from singing is decisive for suspending the performance and the old singer returns home to his wife with the melancholy of his musical dream gone forever.
