Felicia's Journey (1999)

felicia, a young irishwoman, arrives in birmingham in search of her boyfriend johnny, who has emigrated to england to find work and does not know that she is pregnant. alone and lost, she accepts a ride from joseph ambrose hilditch, a middle-aged bachelor in catering. the man offers to help her, making her believe that he is married and stealing the little money he has brought with him. discouraged by the vain research of johnny, who is said to have joined the british army, felicia returns to hilditch, who welcomes her into her home and convinces her to abort.
